Saving Private Ryan

Saving Private Ryan

Just for starters, Go watch this movie now.

This is one of the most brilliant war movies i have ever seen. The best part about this movie is that the story doesn’t focus on the heroic aspect, but rather the truth about war.

The movie is about eight men searching for a soldier by the name of James Ryan (Matt Damon), who’s the last of four brothers still left alive. After the attack of D-Day most of the soldiers still suffer the war syndrome and seem very doubtful of finding one person in a whole war-zone. Back at home, Ryan’s mother gets a letter about three out of four of her sons dying in war, and begs the soldiers to find her last one.

Tom Hanks arguably leads the cast as Captain Miller who is like the elder brother of the band. This is one of his most restrained performances and he is great. But, his supporting cast members that include: Tom Sizemore, Edward Burns, Barry Pepper, Adam Goldberg and especially Giovanni Ribisi are at least equally excellent. Paul Giamatti makes a strong appearance. Even Vin Diesel, shows signs of a good actor as he impresses in a small role.

This movie won 5 Oscars and is definitely a must watch !!

Good Will Hunting

ood Will Hunting

A lot of things have been said about this fantastic movie, and I only hope to add a few more praises.

The fact that it was written by Ben and Matt was a shock to me, I did not expect any strong writing and a solid script, but boy was I wrong. The movie lasts for two hours, and every minute of it I couldn’t even focus on anything beside the incredible world of Will Hunting.

Matt plays Will Hunting, who is a brilliant young man who denies his unreal intellect. Will has had a very abusive childhood which hurt him mentally to a point where he can no longer let anyone close to him aside from his best friend who is played by Ben. That is until a professor at one of the top colleges finds Will’s talent and helps him out of trouble with the law. Robin Williams later comes in as a therapist to Will, he is the only one who can really stand up to Will’s intellect and manages to break the layer of distrust that Will has developed over years of solitude, and the two develop a bond beyond friendship.

Yes there is a girl, but this is not a romantic movie. There is more to life then what we are taught and what we have to show for it.

The writing is witty, brilliant and hilarious at times, both Matt and Robin Williams preform wonderfully from both a comedic and theatrical prospective. Matt’s best work since Dogma and Williams best along side Dead Poet’s Society.

This movie is ahead of it’s time.watch it!!

The Legend of Bagger Vance

The Legend of Bagger Vance

This is a pretty good movie, it’s about a down-and-out golfer who attempts to recover his game and his life with help from a mystical caddy

Honestly there are three reasons to watch this movie:

First, it is very well made, and artistically shot with some highly memorable scenes.

Second, it is very well directed by Robert Redford.

Third, It has a all star cast, Will Smith, Matt Damon and Charlize Theron. Another surprising thing about this movie is the the child actor J. Michael Moncrief, who played a fantastic and a very well acted role in the movie.

Bourne Trilogy

Remember… Everything. Forgive… Nothing.

FlipGraph brings to you, the best action thriller of the 20th century: The Bourne Trilogy – a golden collection of all three jaw dropping Bourne movies – The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy & The Bourne Ultimatum.

Forget about James Bond, give Matt Helm some rest. It’s time for Jason Bourne to rule the spy world. This series is based upon the character Bourne, a former CIA assasin suffering from psychogenic amnesia, created by author Robert Ludlum in his novels. You might have seen sequel movies and would always have said, “Terminator 2 is the best of all…” or “First movie of the Matrix series is much better than rest…”. But the magic of Bourne will never let you compare among the three parts as all of them are equally brilliant in all aspects. Let it be casting, performance, script, thrill, action, dialogues, anything… the movies are simply brilliant in all corners. Now let me take you through a glimpse of the series one by one. Enjoy the trailers.

The Bourne Supremacy: Some two years after learning that he is a trained assassin and breaking his connections with the CIA, Jason Bourne is framed for a crime connected to one of his past missions. A subsequent attempt on his life results in her Love, Marie’s death, so he decides to take revenge by hunting down those responsible for her death and his forgotten past, thinking that the CIA are hunting him again. His quest for revenge pulls him back into his past. And now he starts playing their game, on his rules…

The Bourne Identity: A man is found, almost dead, floating in the Mediterranean Sea with two gunshot wounds in his back and a device with the number of a Swiss safe deposit box embedded in his hip. He wakes up to find that not only he has forgotten what happened last night, but also what his identity is and where he belongs to. The man assumes the name Jason Bourne after finding passports under the name in the safe deposit box, along with many other international passports bearing his photograph but all having different names, large amounts of assorted currencies, and a gun. He subsequently attempts to discover his true identity while countering attempts on his life by CIA assassins, eventually realizing that he is one such assassin who failed to complete his most recent mission. All he wants now is to forget what he didn’t knew and start over…

The Bourne Ultimatum: His Identity… erased. His Loved One… murdered. His Past… destroyed. With nothing to loose anymore, Bourne decides to take them all down and uncover those who did it all this to him. But to do so, he has to first uncover his secrets… his past… his true identity… The Bourne Ultimatum will make you want to cry that the series is complete, yet you won’t not even attempt to stop smiling for hours after watching the ending. However for me, that last one was never a problem. I think it adds to the suspense…

Doug Liman and Paul Greengrass have created this mind blowing series with all the action, the dialogue, and of course the shaky camera. Cast is superb and no one could have done it better than Matt Damon himself. Its an unforgettable trilogy and a collection worth treasuring!!!
