No Country for Old Men is bleak, scary and relentlessly violent. And the center of the movie is a devil ,Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem),who is calm and composed that whenever he speaks it will give drop temperature around you.
It’s directed by one of the best directors of our time brother duo Joel and Ethan Coen.Everything from screenplay to camera work to editing and sound designing were so perfectly done that’s why it’s become one of the finest creation of last decade.
The plot is around chasing for money.Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) got $2 m in cash when he was hunting ,the money belongs to a drug deal which went nasty.A hit-man hired by other group to tarck the money and Moss was our own devil Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem),with unique haircut and chilling calm eyes. And another man, a law man this time, Sheriff Bell (Tommy Lee Jones), is on the trail of both men as they criss-cross around Texas.
The film was honored with numerous awards, garnering three British Academy of Film awards, two Golden Globes, and four Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director (Joel and Ethan Coen), Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Javier Bardem).
New York Times critic A. O. Scott says that Chigurh, Moss, and Bell each “occupy the screen one at a time, almost never appearing in the frame together, even as their fates become ever more intimately entwined.
Chigurh argue with old man about the coin was so intesnse and chilling that Chigurh’s character can haunt for days.
Don’t go for this if you think you have a weak heart to face Chigurh.
