A Serious Man is a black comedy film written, produced, and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen.If you have seen ‘Burn After Reading‘,and you find it too much out of your taste than please avoid this movie because this is purely a art piece by Coen duo.A comedy where the situation produces the humor rather than some punch lines.A pure piece of humor come from situations that’s what the soul of the movie.

The drama around Larry Gopnik, a Midwestern professor who watches his life unravel through multiple sudden incidents. Though seeking for meaning and answers he seems to stay stalled.A true picture of social scenario among Jewish community in US.

Variety’s Todd McCarthy commented that “the Coens’ filmmaking skills are sharply attentive,” and that A Serious Man is “the kind of picture you get to make after you’ve won an Oscar”.

So it’s a must watch for all the Coens’ fans and for all who want to explore the genre of black comedy.
