Misery as a novel or as a movie, choice is all yours but in my personal experience Kathy Bates makes movie a thrilling experience. If Stephen King is a master story teller than Misery can be placed with thrillers like The Shinning.
Paul Sheldon, the author of a best-selling series of Victorian-era romance novels surrounding the heroine character Misery Chastain, has just finished the manuscript of his new crime novel, Fast Cars, while staying at a Hotel. He used that same hotel for all of his previous work and in same situations. After completing the final draft he was heading towards the main land when he had an car accident and he broke his legs due to snow storm.A die hard fan found her and captured her in her home .Now the thrill and passion for a writer turns her fan into a psycho.

The sledgehammer scene in Misery will shiver the devil itself.Kathy Bates won Oscars for best actress in leading role.In my view best negative portrait of female psycho ever in movies.

The movie was remade as a Tamil film called Julie Ganapathi. :)

You will fear to be famous or from your fans after watching it. :)
