Chaplin

I had no idea of the character. But the moment I was dressed, the clothes and the make-up made me feel the person he was. I began to know him, and by the time I walked onto the stage he was fully born.”

A comedy king can make you sad with this movie which is biographical film of troubled life of this genius artist.Born in a very poor family and a mother who was certified mad.A hard life as child, Chaplin’s recollections begin with his childhood of extreme poverty, from which he escapes by immersing himself in the world of the London music halls, after which he relocates to the United States. The film includes references to some of his many romantic episodes and controversy around him regarding his way of thinking and US government ’s spy policy.

The film is a insight into the life of my most favorite character from a childhood,a comedian ,a clown,a dreamer whatever word you like to use define his personality.Robert Downey Jr. who portraits the great actor produced his life time performance,he is too brilliant as Chaplin. The ace director Richard Attenborough (Gandhi fame) again proved his love to biopic movies and he was right on the spot every time.

He made around 80 movies in his life time and 65 of them before he was 35.He loathed talking movies and resisted against it but his use his talent to over come this most desirable feature of movies now a days. His talent and motive towards humanistic view created trouble for him all his life and he had to leave US and lived life as a exile ,but he never gave up his views about humanity.A true humanist all the way.

Enjoy this movie for pure magic of Chaplin and pain around him as well.

All my pictures are built around the idea of getting in trouble and so giving me the chance to be desperately serious in my attempt to appear as a normal little gentleman.
