David Bowie is a cult figure in the scene of 70s and 80s,but his music still haunts me.He gave electro music a heart full of emotional.Still we like to put him in the scene of art and culture that’s the relevance of his art.In the BBC’s 2002 poll of the 100 Greatest Britons, Bowie ranked 29. His voice and intellectual depth in his music is very indigenous to space odyssey. This album contatins most of all masterpicese creted by him.
Cat People(Put on Fire):-This is my favorite song from this album.Quentin Tarantino used Inglorious Basterds and it is the best interpretative use of any song in movies in recent time. His voice and tempo makes the scene of Shosanna waiting for her revenge so cold and dashing.
The Man Who Sold The World:-Sometimes when we are not sure about our identity than this song take the relevance and shape of it’s own.It shows the Bowie’s struggle with God and religion.Nirvana recorded this for their 1993 MTV Unplugged performance.
Space Oddity:-The song tells the story of Major Tom, a fictional astronaut who cuts off communication with Earth and floats into space. After watching 1968 Stanley Kubrick movie 2001: A Space Odyssey,he wrote this song.BBC used this during coverage of the moon landing.:)
All other songs like muscular glam-rock (“Suffragette City,” “The Jean Genie“) to R&B (“Young Americans,” “Fame“) and post-punk flirtations (“Ashes to Ashes,” “Fashion”) to the dance-club hits (“Let’s Dance,” “China Girl,” “Modern Love”) and ’80s one-off duets (“Under Pressure” with Queen, “Dancing in the Streets” with Mick Jagger) shows the versatility of his music and character.
Enjoy David Bowie “The Man who Sold The World”!
